Join Language Connection to celebrate re-unions and new friendships, with festival games, performances and free food for all.
In Japanese folk lore, the long-separated lovers Orihime and Hikoboshi, the Weaving Princess and Cow Herder, are briefly re-united by a bridge of stars every Tanabata, on the 7th day of the 7th lunar month.
The festival will feature your favourites including karate and Japanese Soran Bushi dance by ZEN- 燃 Japanese Dancing/Culture Team in Melbourne, traditional Japanese games like shogi and go, and hearty okonomiyaki and yakisoba.
Over a jam-packed two hours the LC Tanabata Festival will warm up your winter day with friends and festivity.
The event is free, but we will register participants on the day. As with all events, we expect participants to abide by the Community Guidelines, participants found to breach or we believe have breached the Guidelines will be asked to leave.
